In order to regulate the administration of religious personnel, China’s National Religious Affairs Administration issued the proposed “Administrative Measures of Religious Personnel (Draft for Public Comment)” (宗教教職人員管理辦法（征求意見稿）) in accordance with the Regulations on Religious Affairs (宗教事務(wù)條例).
The draft is now soliciting opinions from the public.
There are 7 chapters and 51 articles in total. The Administrative Measures regulate the rights and obligations of religious personnel, the qualification of religious personnel, the main religious personnel in a venue for religious activities, as well as the supervision and administration of religious bodies, religious schools, venue of religious activities, and the religious personnel.
The public comment period closes on 17 Dec. 2020.
