The Code of Practice was promulgated on 15 Apr. 2003 and entered into force on 1 May 2003.

There are 15 articles in total, which are the professional conduct rules of the staff of the Trademark Bureau.

The key points are as follows:

1. The staff shall not engage in trademark agency and business activities.

2. If the party concerned requests the staff to keep its information confidential, the staff shall do so.

3. The staff shall process the trademark registration, review and complaint cases in a timely manner.
